Staff Facilities Engineer

IonQ is seeking a Staff Facilities Engineer to lead the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of MEP systems in our office and technical spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a robust mechanical or electrical engineering background and a proven track record of successful delivery and support of highly technical, complex facility infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a specialization in facility / building systems
• Minimum of 8+ yrs experience supporting highly technical environments
• Experience in a high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, or quantum computing research environment with critical building systems and managing critical clean room environmental requirements
• Proven experience in defining standards for MEP systems
• Significant experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems, including HVAC systems, process piping, and equipment layout
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, electrical codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E
• Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and building automation systems (BAS)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage complex projects effectively
• Strong knowledge of building systems and infrastructure
• Proficiency in facility management software (CMMS) and tools
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Data-driven decision-making
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
