IonQ is seeking a Staff Facilities Engineer to lead the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of MEP systems in our office and technical spaces. The ideal candidate will possess a robust mechanical or electrical engineering background and a proven track record of successful delivery and support of highly technical, complex facility infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a specialization in facility / building systems
- Minimum of 8+ yrs experience supporting highly technical environments
- Experience in a high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, or quantum computing research environment with critical building systems and managing critical clean room environmental requirements
- Proven experience in defining standards for MEP systems
- Significant experience in designing and maintaining mechanical systems, including HVAC systems, process piping, and equipment layout
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, electrical codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E
- Experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and building automation systems (BAS)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects effectively
- Strong knowledge of building systems and infrastructure
- Proficiency in facility management software (CMMS) and tools
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Data-driven decision-making
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
