Controller

IXL Learning is a leading educational technology company seeking a Controller to join its accounting team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including financial reporting, internal controls, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have significant experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller for a software technology company and be familiar with GAAP and other accounting principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA designation is strongly preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller for a minimum of 3 years
• Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, specifically in the audit practice, is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles and regulations
• Technical expertise in revenue recognition and stock-based compensation a plus
• Experience in the software technology industry is preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; Experience with NetSuite is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• High level of integrity and professionalism
