This Underwriter position is focused on generating opportunities, client relationships, and brokerage placements, creating relationships with brokerage carriers, and negotiating terms and pricing. The role involves interacting with companies and brokers via various means, developing client relationships, reviewing submission documents, and providing quotations and comparisons.
Requirements
- Producer's License
- 3+ years of insurance experience
- Prior exposure to insurance brokerage type activities
- Basic familiarity with computers
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- High sense of urgency
- Resourceful and controlled assertive behavior
- Demonstrated negotiation & sales skills
- Technical knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application to exposure
- Knowledge of departmental regulations and policies
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within parameters
