Composite Materials & Process Intern

As a Composites M&P intern at Joby, you will support the materials qualification effort leading to the development, certification, and production of eVTOL aircraft. You will be responsible for fabricating composite laminate and bonded panels, interpreting standards for material characterization and development tests, and operating electromechanical test frames. You will work in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment and will be supported to grow and be successful. You will be expected to maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and follow all Joby safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Interest in engineering and eVTOLs
• Strong math skills and knowledge of engineering documentation and drawings
• Ability to operate inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height-gauges, microscopes, scales)
• Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs. unassisted and stand at a workstation for extended periods
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and general computer skills
