Safety Specialist

This position is responsible for implementing and managing the safety policies and procedures put in place, working as part of a team to develop, implement, and evaluate safety policies and programs across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, safety and health, OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred, but not required
• 2-3 years' experience as a safety professional preferred
• OSHA10 and OSHA30
• Effective adult training methods and practical approaches and methodologies
• Understanding of generally applied techniques and strategies to design, develop, and implement comprehensive solutions
• Applicable regulatory requirements including air permitting requirements and when each applies (OSHA General Industry and Construction standards)
• Strong organizational skills
• Promoting safety as a guiding principle and regular practice in accomplishing work focusing on safety improvements and complies with safety and health policies and procedures
• Ability to access all work areas, including climbing narrow, steep stairs; donning fall protection gear to access heights as needed; entering confined spaces such containers and voids as needed
