Join Our Mission to Empower Lives! As an Adult Education ESL Instructor, you will help adults overcome educational barriers and achieve their GED. You will be part of a dynamic team that works together to inspire, motivate, and empower participants to reach their full potential.
Requirements
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in English/language arts, ESL, or bilingual education OR a bachelor’s degree or higher in English, ESL, linguistics, bilingual education, or a closely related degree, AND a valid Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification
- 1+ year of classroom teaching experience
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with literacy programs, testing, and specific needs of adult learners
- Strong ability to teach literacy skills in both one-on-one to small group instruction
- Computer skills, experience with online learning platform, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks
