Staff Software Engineer

Linus Health is a digital health company transforming brain health worldwide. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will drive the design, development, and delivery of complex software systems, and guide your fellow team members toward high-impact outcomes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with significant expertise in RESTful services and database design
• 4+ years building large-scale restful services including database design
• Strong grasp of modern Java programming, tooling and ecosystems (Maven, JVM internals, advanced Java features, multi-threading, concurrency, memory management)
• Deep understanding of the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Security), Microservices architecture, RESTful API design, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows, and proven ability to accelerate development workflows through practical application
• Proficiency in query performance optimization and transactional consistency
• Strong communication skills—able to drive consensus, document decisions (ADRs, RFCs), and present tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
