The Leadperson is a critical working supervisor role responsible for bridging the gap between management and frontline operations. The primary objective is to ensure safe, efficient production at plant or quarry operations by planning, organizing, and directing the daily work assignments of the assigned team.
Requirements
- Implement and enforce all federal (MSHA), state, and company safety policies.
- Coordinate daily production shifts, ensuring equipment is utilized effectively to meet output goals and product quality standards.
- Lead the plant safety committee and implement all federal (MSHA), state, and local safety regulations.
- Assist in training new hires, provide input for annual performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary actions or commendations to management.
- Perform regular inspections of plant equipment for mechanical issues. Work with the maintenance team to schedule preventative maintenance and assist with repairs as needed.
- Accurately complete daily production, safety, and maintenance logs. Assist management in developing mining plans, profit plans, and monthly forecasts.
- Operate mobile equipment (loaders, dozers, haul trucks) and perform manual tasks (shoveling, sweeping, plant cleaning) to maintain housekeeping standards.
- Assist the Plant Manager and Production Supervisor in developing mining plans, profit plans, and monthly production forecasts.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of all aggregates, cement, or asphalt products to ensure they meet customer and regulatory specifications.
- Identify and recommend operational efficiencies to maximize production while minimizing waste and downtime.
