This is a 6-month, 1099, temporary contract position with no benefits for a senior mechanical engineer in the medical device sector. The role involves applying engineering expertise to design solutions, participating in the review of specifications, and supporting prototype development. The engineer will work collaboratively with other engineering functions and assist with product testing.
Requirements
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM&A) using SolidWorks CAD software.
- Understanding of injection molded plastic, plastic extrusion, casting, and additive manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical design knowledge of metric and dimensional standards.
- GD&T, machine measurement, and statistical analysis skills.
- Experience with electronic document control systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of FDA, IEC and UL standards.
- Technical and analytical ability.
