Job Description
Safety Officer position requires a Higher National Degree (HND) or University Degree in an Engineering discipline or an Accredited HSE Professional Certificate, with 10 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety, preferably in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry, and specifically construction projects. The role involves thorough knowledge of safe work practices, international standards, and procedures, as well as competency in using PC software.
Requirements
- Higher National Degree (HND) or University Degree in an Engineering discipline or an Accredited HSE Professional Certificate
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety
- Experience in the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Industry, and specifically construction projects
- Thorough knowledge of safe work practices, international standards (e.g., ISO 45001:2018), and procedures
- Conversant with international standards in Environmental Management System
- Trained in Incident Investigation Software (e.g., TapRoot, SafetyCulture, EasyRCA, Tripod Beta)
- Competent in the use of PC including MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and other relevant software
