Senior Advisor

MBIE is looking for a Senior Advisor to drive and influence how the Resource Markets branch delivers high-quality governance, programme management, and regulatory services. As a Senior Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring consistent, timely, and efficient delivery of cross-branch functions while supporting regulatory regimes that connect with other agencies.

Requirements

• Demonstrated project management experience, or the capability to lead projects or key workstreams, including planning, sequencing, risk/issue management, and delivering results in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory systems and a commitment to effective, risk-based regulation.
• An outcome-focused approach with the ability to turn strategy into deliverable work plans.
• Proven ability to analyse complex information, identify risks, and design practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
• Advanced strategic and critical thinking, sound judgement, and attention to detail.
• Experience in governance, risk, and quality management practices.
• Strong relationship management skills.
• Understanding of government processes and accountability frameworks.

Benefits
