Job Description
The Housing Navigator provides direct assistance and support to guests experiencing a housing crisis and homelessness through clinical engagement and intensive case management services. This role involves crisis intervention, housing readiness support, access to housing assistance, and developing a housing plan for participants. The position is responsible for coordination within internal NHF programs and external systems, including collaborating with housing authorities, DMH, and community partners.
Requirements
- Associate degree in related field
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable insurance
- Experience working with unhoused individuals a plus
- Experience in affordable housing programs, VASH, Section 8 programs, shelter plus care and other housing programs
- Demonstrated experience in working with landlords and advocating on behalf of the underserved
- Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work on higher acuity caseloads
- Passion towards ending homelessness
