Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health

Community health organization seeking Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health to schedule and coordinate patient and follow-up care. Responsibilities include obtaining authorization and eligibility information, scheduling appointments, and documenting patient medical records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Familiarity with medical procedures and terminology
• Proficiency with electronic health records system experience
• Intermediate computer and data entry skills
• Ability to use sound judgment and anticipate needs of patients and providers
• Flexibility with changing priorities and time sensitive deadlines
• Emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and patient care
• Bilingual English/Spanish, English/Farsi, or English/Arabic preferred
