NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Network Engineer II to provide operations, management, and sustainment (O&M&S) support for the Naval Exchange Point transport network serving Navy and Marine Corps users. This role involves maintaining security, troubleshooting network issues, and ensuring optimal performance through ticketing system and API integration. The Engineer will also be responsible for device maintenance and documentation.
Requirements
- Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance
- DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications
- Up to 5% travel required
- 2+ years relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure
- A working knowledge of Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices
- Good understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting
- Knowledge and understanding of the following Network protocols and services: SD-WAN and Spine-Leaf Architecture, troubleshooting IPSec tunnels, routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP), Access Control Lists, Layer 2 Switching, and Packet Analysis.
- Experience with Arista switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, and TAP and network visibility
- Experience with Gigamon, NetScout
