Network Engineer III

NexGen Data Systems is seeking a skilled Network Engineer III to provide expert support for the Naval Exchange Point transport network, ensuring security compliance, performance, and reliability. The role involves incident response, performance monitoring, communication, and device maintenance, working closely with the design team and customers.

Requirements

• Active Department of Defense Top Secret level security clearance
• DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications
• 5+ years relevant experience in supporting a large network infrastructure
• Expert knowledge of Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices
• Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP in regards to routing and subnetting
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting the following Network protocols and services: SD-WAN and Spine-Leaf Architecture
• Troubleshooting IPSec tunnels
• Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP)
• Access Control Lists
• Layer 2 Switching
• Packet Analysis
• Experience with the following a plus: Arista switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, TAP and network visibility (i.e. Gigamon, NetScout)
