The Staff Accountant plays a vital role on Freedom Reads' Finance team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our day-to-day financial operations. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven, fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting nonprofit financial stewardship.

Requirements

• Record and maintain daily financial transactions to ensure accurate and timely accounting.
• Process accounts payable through Bill.com and manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and deposits.
• Support credit card expense management by coding and reconciling transactions in Expensify.
• Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing and related administrative tasks.
• Contribute to monthly close activities, including reconciliations and preparing documentation for financial reporting.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records in line with nonprofit accounting best practices.
• Collaborate with staff across the organization to ensure proper coding, documentation, and financial understanding.
• Uphold Freedom Reads' mission and values in all financial operations and interactions.
