The Program Assistant - METS assists in providing comprehensive academic advising and cultural awareness to program participants, plans and supervises all METS related activities, and coordinates and implements the METS Summer Enrichment Program.
Requirements
- Mission-driven and passionate about programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate academic support programs including advising, workshops, fieldtrips, assessment, follow-up and resource referral.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to take direction, prioritize, and work independently.
- Demonstrated experience-solving problems including conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure or on deadline, maintaining a professional composure when dealing with common problems that occur in events and classroom settings.
- Experience and ability to effectively work with students with all academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds similar to METS Program participants.
