Job Description
The Health Information Management Coder II (RHIA - RHIT - CCS) is a full-time position providing second-level coding review for medical diagnoses and clinical procedures. The role involves assigning diagnostic and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10 PCS, and CPT, and utilizing abstracted information from medical records.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience coding in a hospital setting (both inpatient and outpatient)
- Certification in RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
- Experience with an encoder
- Knowledge of payer requirements related to diagnostic and procedural coding
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
