Counsel, Privacy

As a Privacy Counsel, you will help develop and lead privacy initiatives for OpenAI's advanced AI products, models, and technologies, and work closely with research, product, engineering, privacy, and security teams. You will anticipate and address privacy, regulatory, product, and other legal risks, develop strategies for handling legal issues, and help build and improve processes for scaling our privacy program as the company grows.

Requirements

• Bring at least 6+ years of legal experience, with a mix of in-house and technology-focused law firm roles
• Hold a JD and are licensed or qualified to practice in California
• Provide strategic privacy counsel on complex and emerging technologies in fast-paced environments
• Show a strong sense of ownership, are inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, enjoy being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
• Excel in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Take a collaborative and proactive approach, with a track record of working effectively in a cross-functional environment
