Job Description
Orbex is seeking a Fluid Design Engineer to own and lead the development of hardware for propulsion and structural systems. This role involves taking responsibility for the full product lifecycle, from initial design to flight readiness, requiring technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration. The company is an international, diverse and multicultural group focused on unlocking space for future humanity.
Requirements
- Educational background in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in the design and development of fluid hardware
- Skilled in mechanical CAD design, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing documentation
- Experience with analysis tools (e.g., SolidWorks FEA/CFD, Ansys, Fluent/CFX)
- Hands-on experience with hardware integration and testing, including test documentation and reporting.
- Familiarity with project planning tools
- Desirable experience with cryogenic fluids and/or high-pressure systems
- Exposure to additive manufacturing methods for propulsion components
- Knowledge of manufacturing and quality assurance processes in aerospace hardware
- Experience with Python, EcoSim, or AmeSim for system-level modelling
