Job Description
Orbex is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the technical development of its Fluid Systems team within a fast-paced environment. The role involves designing and developing fluidic hardware, with a focus on cryogenic valves, piping, and integrated fluid systems for launch vehicle systems. The position requires a balance of technical leadership, project coordination, and hands-on design skills.
Requirements
- Proactive and confident in technical abilities.
- Strong engineering judgment with collaborative leadership.
- 6+ years industry experience in fluidic hardware development.
- Proven track record in full product lifecycle management.
- Strong mechanical design skills (GD&T, tolerance stack-up, etc.).
- Experience with cryogenic fluid handling.
- Hands-on experience with assembly, inspection, and quality requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, FEA, CFD).
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Understanding of ECSS, MIL, RCC, and NASA standards.
- Experience with scripting and simulation tools.
- UK/European citizen with a Criminal Record Check.
