As a Mechanical Engineer Intern with JLG, you will work on a variety of key projects and initiatives ranging from simple tasks to more complex analytical projects. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented and skilled Engineers in the industry.
Requirements
- Design, model and test new mechanical systems that integrate with a JLG’s.
- Research and execute on continuous improvement request (CIR’s) to support manufacturing, supply chain, and customer feedback/operations.
- Work with global engineering resources to prepare/revise/review vehicle component layouts using CAD (i.e. Creo Parametric).
- Create and manage ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
- Update bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes.
- Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.
- Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.
- Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems.
- Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.
