Job Description
Paytm is seeking a Backend - Technical Lead to design scalable architectures, coach engineers, and lead technology-first projects supporting a massive user base. The role involves driving backend systems, optimizing APIs, and championing engineering excellence while actively leveraging AI tools to accelerate innovation.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of hands-on backend engineering experience — Java, Spring Boot, AWS.
- Proven ownership of high-scale distributed systems.
- Deep knowledge of microservices, messaging systems, caching, storage optimization, and cloud scalability.
- Clear architectural thinking; design systems for billions of transactions.
- AI-first mindset — using GPT and other AI coding tools.
- Strong leadership skills — mentoring, code reviewing, pushing for engineering best practices.
