Job Description
The Assistant Controller is a key leader within the school's business office, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions and ensuring the integrity of the financial records. This role is integral to month-end/year-end close, overseeing payroll, and assisting the Director of Finance with financial reporting and analysis. The position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a background in nonprofit or independent school accounting.
Requirements
- Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tuition billing, and reconciliation.
- Maintain general ledger and prepare/post journal entries.
- Review and audit bank and investment accounts.
- Review payroll and ensure timely payment.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and controls.
- Oversee the accounts receivable process.
- Review and analyze financial data for insights.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
