Teacher Middle School - Social Studies - Retention Eligible Bonus

We are seeking a qualified Middle School Social Studies teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly qualified in the approved area of Middle School Social Studies and have teaching experience at the middle school level.

Requirements

• Provide communication to students and parents on a weekly basis through a variety of tools
• Grade student work within 24-48 hours of being submitted
• Evaluate student work by providing written comments on all submitted assignments
• Post a daily announcement in each course to motivate students
• Manage the discussion board in each class to encourage participation and learning
• Meet weekly expectations as outlined in teacher training and guidelines
• Participate in professional development and department meetings
• Assist with administering standardized assessments
• Establish rapport with students/parents and encourage students to maintain attendance and academic expectations
• Direct students to necessary resources
• Monitor and oversee student access to the Parent Student Portal and other websites
• Properly document issues, concerns, and important information concerning students/parents
• Maintain a professional code of conduct
• Maintain professional confidentiality
• Acknowledge and accept direction from leadership
• Demonstrate willingness to work and collaborate with students, parents, co-workers, and the general public
• Communicate effectively, both verbal and written
• Maintain positive and pro-active customer service
• Prioritize work and handle multiple tasks independently
• Display excellent planning and organizational skills
• Work under pressure, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and deal with difficult situations
