The Senior Managing Clerk will support the Firm's Litigation and Labor & Employment Departments by managing the filing process for all court and administrative documents, working closely with the Managing Attorney and other members of the Managing Attorney's Office.
Requirements
- Perform the service and filing of federal and state court and administrative agency documents
- Coordinate with outside attorney service organizations
- Conduct research for and retrieve court and administrative agency documents
- Utilize on-line computer based research applications such as CourtLink, CourtAlert, PACER, PACERPro, Bloomberg Law, and others
- Monitor rule updates and judges' practices
- Have working knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures
- Review court documents prior to filing and advise attorneys of any changes or edits needed
- Liaise with court personnel as needed
- Evaluate emerging technologies and platforms that impact e-filing, docketing, and calendaring practices
- Assist with preparing responses to requests for audit inquiry information
- Assist with registering attorneys for state and federal court e-filing credentials
- Assist with enrolling attorneys on CourtAlert Vault and maintaining NextGen, NYSCEF, and other e-filing credentials
- Train and mentor junior staff in the Managing Attorney's Office
