Job Description
Cognito LLC is seeking a Medical Records Technician to support the ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) at the T. Don Hutto Detention Center in Taylor, TX. The role involves assisting with the safe delivery of health care to individuals in ICE custody, utilizing an electronic health record system. The position requires on-call availability and adherence to strict HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Certification: Maintaining Heartsaver CPR AED certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Medical Record Technician
- Minimum 1 year of direct experience with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
- Credentialing with background check and drug screen
- Knowledge of the basic principles of standard electronic medical record procedures
- Knowledge of the procedures, rules, and requirements for processing electronic medical records
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to manage high volume of medical records daily
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Knowledge of regulations (HIPAA/Privacy Act)
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual environment
