Job Description
News UK, a leading media business in the UK and Ireland, is seeking a Web Engineer to join a newly formed data collection team focused on improving data collection across their digital products. This is a high-profile project involving code review and rewriting of data integrations, requiring effective communication and problem-solving skills. The team utilizes data-driven decision-making and focuses on AI initiatives like personalization.
Requirements
- Proficiency in JavaScript (required)
- Experience with React.js, Next.js (required)
- Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles
- Strong understanding of architectural patterns: MVC, MVP, MVVM, MVI, VIPER
- Ability to read and understand legacy codebases
- Understanding of build systems and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with performance optimisation (lazy loading, code splitting, asset optimisation)
- Experience with server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and client-side rendering (CSR)
- Experience with code migration and refactoring
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and debugging tools
- Familiarity with event tracking implementation
