The Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for helping to drive cost reduction activities through process improvements to directly impact the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and is located onsite at our facility in Simi Valley, CA.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degrees
- 3 + years of Engineering Work Experience in the field of manufacturing in a CNC machining and grinding environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- General working knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools (including SPC, GR&R, DOE, FMEA, Control Plans, DMAIC, FAI, Cost of Quality)
- Strong customer service orientation/ high level of interpersonal skills
- Capable of working and leading within a team structure
- Detail oriented and self-motivated
- Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills
- Working knowledge of engineering part drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Experience in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques
- Demonstrated success in the ability to consistently multitask
- Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
- Capable of occasional travel to customers and other plants
