This role is responsible for leading the engineering team that executes priorities within the company's Beverage Category. It involves planning, prioritizing, and implementing business objectives that support capital execution priorities and engineering related continuous improvements efforts aligned with the strategic growth of the category.
Requirements
- Build, lead and develop a high performing engineering team instilling a culture of accountability, results, continuous improvement, and people first.
- Provide strong leadership to the overall engineering team working together to complete projects, assigning team members roles in which they’re most likely to succeed, and maintain team productivity.
- Prioritize, define and assign engineering projects to project engineers, manufacturing engineers, process engineers, and project managers, defining project objectives, preparing project plans, issuing project instructions and controlling changes to project scope and designs.
- Oversight and execution of capital and process improvements for the optimization of new and existing processes.
- Actively review category wide KPI’s and perform data analysis to provide analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
- Financial analysis and tracking capital spend to provide justification and confirm that capital projects meet or exceed ROI.
- Negotiate and resolve executive-level challenges that impact strategic direction.
- Improve manufacturing operations through projects that reduce labor, boost quality, efficiency, and occupational safety, while ensuring solutions support category growth goals.
- Collaborate and support sales, R&D, and other areas of the business in process design for new products, automation and asset utilization.
- Leads and implements APQP processes and expectations for the product category (PFMEA, MSA, and SPC).
- Governmental Regulations - Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, OFCCP, etc.
- Provide leadership in Operational Excellence through continuous improvement, benchmarking and making recommendations to achieve world-class operational excellence in manufacturing.
- Customer Requirements - Work with Company and Plant Leadership in identifying and communicating customer requirements and updating engineering process controls to reflect best practices.
- Collaborate with Enterprise quality and others in the business to develop standards for process and facility design, emphasizing sanitary equipment, and infrastructure design.
