Join Scotiabank's Global Banking and Markets Communications team as a Senior Manager to conceptualize, develop, implement, and measure the success of communications while ensuring business strategies and plans are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies.
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in communications, journalism or equivalent experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years working experience in a corporate communications or related industry communications experience in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment
- Knowledge of the financial services marketplace with an understanding of Scotiabank's competitive positioning within those markets
- Exceptional written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to create and deliver strategic communications plans
- Media relations and issues management experience, with a knowledge of the Canadian financial media landscape
- Experience in seeking, creating, and championing creative communication solutions
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Excellent project management skills with a high-level of accountability for the quality and timely completion of projects
- Knowledge and experience communicating via different channels, including print, web, visual media, SharePoint and emerging communication platforms
- Comfort working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and ability balance multiple priorities
- A high degree of comfort in briefing, supporting, and engaging with senior decision-makers or C-suite executives
- Proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with colleagues across a range of functions
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to take on tasks outside of core responsibilities
- A commitment to curiosity, and professional and personal growth
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, but with regular reporting and updates
- Discrete ability to recognize and appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information
- Fluency in a secondary language (Spanish/French) is an asset
- Ability to create enthusiasm and foster a team environment
- Excellent knowledge of business-related software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
