Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is a national engineering firm committed to delivering holistic advice for our clients' most complex challenges. We are seeking an Engineer in Training (Entry-level) to join our Energy Structures team in Houston, Texas.
Requirements
- Master of Science or Doctoral degree in Structural Engineering and Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Ability to obtain Civil Professional Engineer (P.E.) license within five years
- Zero to two (2) years of engineering experience
- Experience with structural analysis, structural dynamics, and/or structural mechanics
- Knowledge of design, analysis, evaluation, and/or permitting of onshore and offshore structures
- Knowledge of safety/risk analysis and probabilistic methods is a plus
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines amongst competing priorities
- Proficiency in at least one advanced analysis software package including ABAQUS, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, or USFOS
- Proficiency in at least one structural analysis software package including SAP2000, SACS STAAD-PRO, or RISA
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with technical staff and clients
- Ability to travel to remote job sites including offshore
