Broadcast Engineer

7 News in Washington, DC is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to install, maintain, and repair television broadcasting equipment. This role involves working with a variety of systems, including servers, non-linear editors, production switchers, and communication equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of hardware, computer systems, and electrical systems and is comfortable with long hours and weekends.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ broadcast experience
• Solid understanding of core hardware, computer systems, IP Networking and electrical systems
• Experience working with microwaves, transmitters and satellites is preferred
• Self-motivated and ability to work efficiently without direct supervision
• Valid driver's license
• Flexibility to accommodate shift changes and weekend/evening work
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Associate's degree or higher in electronics or a related field is preferred
