Manager of Security

Space Center Houston is seeking a full-time Manager of Security to manage the overall security functions of the space exploration learning destination. The Manager will be responsible for supervising in-house security staff, developing and implementing security policies, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and crew members.

Requirements

• Manage in-house security staff of 20 officers
• Staff management responsibilities include selection, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, recognition, and training
• Assist with the development and implementation of company-wide security policies and procedures
• Manage Space Center Houston’s security and life safety systems
• Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
• Investigate and resolve issues
• Assist with monitoring maintenance agreements with outside vendors, contractors and service organizations
• Assist with the development and management of the Security Department budget
• Actively participate in professional organizations, committees and associations
• Responsible for all requirements to maintain a Company License (Letter of Authority) with the Texas Private Security Bureau
