Job Description
Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking a Programmer Developer to join their IT Markets team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining mission-critical applications essential for SPP's System Operations team. The role involves optimizing performance and efficiency of various applications and processes, collaborating with subject matter experts, and providing support for the real-time Market Operating System.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an Information Technology-related field or equivalent job-related experience
- Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, UNIX or Linux operating systems, application development and support, and database management systems
- Expert in one or more modern programming languages
- Expert troubleshooting, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Expert written and oral communication skills
- Expert working knowledge of SDLC and project life cycle methods and practices
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
