Job Description
S:US is seeking a Peer Specialist to engage with individuals and families in Harlem and surrounding communities, supporting substance use disorder recovery through outreach, education, and advocacy. The role involves building rapport with participants, combating overdose, developing wellness tools, and influencing team culture. The position offers both regular and hybrid schedules.
Requirements
- Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (or Provisional)
- Understanding of the community and available resources
- Positive and productive progress toward personal recovery
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Two years of active participation in self-help or peer support
- Ability to disclose recovery story (when appropriate)
- Good judgment and understanding of boundaries
