Shop Machinist

Talent Consultant Group is partnered with an inspection, overhaul, and repair company that is looking to add a Manual/Conventional Machine Shop Machinist to their growing team in Jacksonville, FL. This role applies knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set-up and operate a variety of machine shop tools to produce precision parts.

Requirements

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Read work orders and/or production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances.
• Set-up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and actions, according to product and material specifications.
• Operate Forklifts and cranes
• Use of torches, grinders and multiple power tools
• Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.
• Support other areas of the shop as needed.
