Senior Scientist

Terracon is seeking a Senior Scientist to join their Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) practice in Tempe, AZ. The successful candidate will have expertise in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) procedures and compliance, as well as experience managing environmental compliance for major projects. The role will involve mentoring and developing environmental planning practitioners, championing EPP business development locally and regionally, and leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a consulting environment conducting work related to NEPA and other regulatory and permitting processes
• Strong understanding of NEPA and related environmental laws (Section 404 CWA, Section 106 NHPA, ESA)
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with others in various environmental settings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task within flexible/fluid schedules and project needs
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Ability to pass drug screening
• Possession of a valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable violation history
