Assistant Professor of Practice in Literacy Teacher Education

The Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Assistant Professor of Practice to begin September 1, 2026. The position involves teaching, mentoring, and liaison work in the area of literacy teacher education, with a focus on diversity, innovation, and community engagement.

Requirements

• Teach and supervise literacy education courses aligned with state certification standards
• Support the design and delivery of evidence-based literacy coursework for teacher candidates
• Collaborate with TTU teacher education faculty and community partners
• Engage in program evaluation, data management and monitoring, and research related to literacy teacher education
• Support strategic initiatives to increase enrollment and diversify participation in literacy education programs
