The Communications Specialist operates as the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students, guests, visitors, and affiliates of the university, monitoring and responding to radio frequencies, telephone lines, CCTV monitors, and alarm systems.
Requirements
- Maintain a constant, careful, and accurate duty status of all field units
- Dispatch and record all incoming calls for service
- Monitor and respond to various radio frequencies, telephone lines, life/safety alarm systems, CCTV's, and monitors
- Perform access control functions and computer-based data entry and records management functions
- Inspect and ensure functionality of all intrusion alarms, fire alarms, access control, CCTV cameras, emergency telephone systems, radios, batteries, and chargers
