Job Description
The Common Market is seeking a Vice President for Development to be the first dedicated executive leader for fundraising. This role bridges philanthropy and earned revenue, aiming to accelerate systems change through the connection of innovation, government investment, and market sustainability. The ideal candidate will be strategic, entrepreneurial, and deeply invested in building a resilient food system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MA/MBA/philanthropy certificate) highly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising/advancement or social‐enterprise revenue roles.
- Proven track record of securing seven‐figure philanthropic commitments.
- Experience leading a distributed or regional development team with accountability for results.
- Experience integrating philanthropy with other revenue streams or in a social enterprise context.
- Prior experience in food systems, agriculture, health equity, or place-based community impact is a plus.
