The Upper School English Instructor is responsible for teaching Upper School English, providing academic support and planning, and participating in extracurricular activities. The successful candidate will create a classroom that fosters critical thinking, creative expression, and collaboration, and will be a lifelong learner who welcomes professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English—Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum three years of experience as an Upper School English teacher
- Proficiency in educational technology and current pedagogical research and practices
- Commitment to participate broadly in the life of the school
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated record of effectively differentiating instruction and using instructional technology
- Experience with school change and ongoing, immersive teacher collaboration
- Innovative, flexible thinking to meet student needs in a mission-centered classroom
- Prior experience working with Advanced Placement and/or International Baccalaureate curriculum and objectives preferred
