Job Description
UChicago Medicine is seeking a License Operator Engineer to operate, maintain, and repair all machinery and equipment in the Hyde Park Center. This is a 100% onsite position based in Chicago, IL. The role requires hands-on work on site and building infrastructure, including power, heating, cooling, and medical/laboratory systems.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- 5 years of experience in power plant, facility operations, building maintenance or building automation/controls
- Successful completion of recognized trade union apprenticeship program (Ioe 399, pipefitter LU 597, sheet metal worker local 73) or equivalent trade
- Current City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License
- EPA Refrigerant License (Universal)
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Ability to physically perform the job
