We are looking for a Finance Operations Specialist who values clear processes, dependable routines, and producing accurate work and is also eager to work smarter by using technology, automation, and more efficient ways of operating. As a Finance Operations Specialist, you will manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and supporting accurate payroll processing.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Keen to drive digital transformation by introducing innovative tools and automation within finance operations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles (or equivalent)
- Ability to prepare accurate financial statements, reconciliations, and internal management reports
- Proficiency with accounting software (ideally NetSuite) is preferred but not required
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)
- Knowledge of Canadian payroll and finance-related payroll processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and statutory remittances
- Confidence managing compliance tasks, such as GST/PST/HST filings and remittances
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain structured, well-documented records
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial data and reports
- Comfortable working with routine processes, established workflows, and recurring monthly cycles
- Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and follow through to resolution
- Clear and professional communication skills, especially when explaining financial information to non-finance colleagues
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with HR, external payroll providers, and internal teams
- High level of discretion and commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through independently
