Research Laboratory Technologist

The Research Laboratory Technologist is a part-time position to support research and bench work laboratory studies of prion disease and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Requirements

• Handling small rodents (mice and hamsters)
• Performing western blots, real time RT-PCR, cloning, restriction enzyme digestion, sequencing of human DNA samples, cell cultures, cell transfections
• Maintaining a laboratory database and performing routine laboratory maintenance (ordering supplies, etc.)
• Guiding participants in studies, packaging and mailing kits to patients for recovery of biological samples (microbiome), and assisting with a study that uses a wearable device to monitor agitation in patients with dementia
• Maintaining technical and administrative support for a research project
• Analyzing and maintaining data and/or specimens, conducting literature reviews, and assisting with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents
