Physical Therapist 1 (H)

The University of Miami is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist 1 to work in Miami, FL. The Physical Therapist I provides physical therapy and wellness services to patients and clients who have impairments, functional disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes.

Requirements

• Evaluates new patients, establishes goals, and develops appropriate treatment plans.
• Documents all evaluations, treatments, and other pertinent patient interactions daily.
• Educates patients and families regarding medical conditions and provides instructions for home activities.
• Communicates with physicians and their staff to obtain necessary information and suggests revisions in treatment.
• Utilizes treatment tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Maintains a satisfactory level of productivity and demonstrates willingness to adjust personal schedule in case of crisis or real clinic need.
• Participates in quality and safety improvement activities.
• Orients, instructs, and directs work activities for assistants and support personnel.
• Utilizes appropriate methods and materials for learning programs, monitors effectiveness, and adapts programs accordingly.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
