The Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist 1 to work in North Miami at our new state-of-the-art facility, UHealth at SoLe Mia Medical Center. The Physical Therapist I provides physical therapy and wellness services to patients and clients with impairments, functional disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.

Requirements

• Evaluates new patients, establishes goals, and develops appropriate treatment plans.
• Documents all evaluations, treatments, and other pertinent patient interactions daily.
• Educates patients and families regarding medical conditions and provides instructions for home activities.
• Communicates with physicians and their staff to obtain necessary information and suggests revisions in treatment.
• Utilizes treatment tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Maintains a satisfactory level of productivity and demonstrates willingness to adjust personal schedule in case of crisis or real clinic need.
• Participates in quality and safety improvement activities.
• Orients, instructs, and directs work activities for assistants and support personnel.
• Utilizes appropriate methods and materials for learning programs, monitors effectiveness, and adapts programs accordingly.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
