Backend Developer (Django/Python)

Updraft is a rapidly growing fintech company revolutionizing the way people manage their money, leveraging AI and a free credit report to help users achieve better financial health. They are seeking a Backend Developer to join their team in Bengaluru and contribute to the development of innovative features for their mobile app. The role offers opportunities for growth, learning, and impact.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of backend development experience building secure, efficient Python applications, ideally using Django or Flask.
• Strong cloud expertise, particularly with AWS or Google Cloud, and hands-on experience with Git, Docker, MySQL or Postgres, and server-side tooling.
• Experience designing and scaling backend services from scratch, with solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Commercial experience in high-scale startups, with at least 3 years working on backend systems and 2+ years with Python.
• Comfortable with integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Modulr, Truelayer, Checkout.com) to build lending, collections, and payment systems.
• Proven ability to build internal tools that automate operations and save engineering hours.
• Collaborative mindset, working closely with data, product, and front-end teams to deliver impactful features.
• Strong awareness of security practices including best practices around performance, maintainability, and data integrity.
