Job Description
EMMA L. BOWEN COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to join their team and provide treatment and support to clients with co-occurring mental illness. The organization has a long history of serving families, children, adolescents, and adults in northern Manhattan, offering outpatient and residential drug and alcohol programs, as well as a Therapeutic Preschool. They are a Certified NHSC site.
Requirements
- Conducting substance use assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
- Meeting with clients for individual counseling.
- Leading group counseling sessions.
- Crisis intervention.
- Psychoeducation.
- Maintaining case records in EHR.
- Referral coordination.
- Client care coordination with providers.
