Job Description
Vicinity Energy is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Technician to join their team at their Kent County Waste to Energy facility in Grand Rapids, MI. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, cleaning, operating, and maintaining the ash recycling system, including ash conveying systems and metal recovery equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in industrial, power plant or military environments
- Ability to read and understand operating manuals
- Able to work in varying conditions of heat, dust, noise, smoke and vibrations
- Must submit to a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening
- Must possess a valid driver license in good standing in order to operate a company vehicle
- Must be able to operate mobile equipment, front-end loader, and forklift
- Must be fit test qualified for possible full-face respirator use during equipment maintenance outages
- Ability to climb ladders and structures and tolerate heights up to and including 50 feet
- Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds unassisted as required
